Priority Projects 2021-22

Select Projects in Support of the BFAS Strategic Plan

Signature strategies are realized through the delivery of projects that may be undertaken by a single BFAS unit or addressed cross-functionally by teams comprised of multiple BFAS units, and, where appropriate, constituents from across the University community. Projects are expected to be ambitious yet attainable and their achievement measurable. The BFAS Strategic Planning Steering Committee will continue with the charge of plan management include initiating, supporting, and monitoring plan achievement. Priority projects for the 2021-22 year include:

  1. Advance Syracuse University’s real estate strategy.

  2. Advance the University’s Enterprise Risk Management program through its next level of maturity.
    Project lead: Utibe Offiong, Office of Institutional Risk and Audit Services
  3. Close the upfront payment transaction consistent with the parameters approved by the Board of Trustees.

  4. Conclude final modernization plans for the Syracuse University Steam Station.

  5. Consistent with Campus Framework and the housing strategy, acquire The Marshall and advance the Ostrom project through the proposal development phase.

  6. Enhance the Department of Public Safety’s image and performance in response to the University’s evolving needs.

  7. Implement diversity and inclusion-related initiatives consistent with those of the University.

  8. Improve campus experience and offerings across all areas in service of the entire University community.

  9. Manage progress on all active capital projects.

  10. Provide onboarding support and resources to incoming leaders within Academic Affairs and the Student Experience.
