External Income Proposal

The external income proposal memo is used for the approval of rates resulting from income generating activities from external sources such as for profit and other non-for-profit organizations.

Examples of external activities include, but are not limited to:

  • services provided to outside parties
  • use of University facilities i.e. research labs, lab equipment, athletic facilities, classrooms, conference rooms, parking lots etc.

The memo should contain the purpose, goal and details of the external income activity. It should include the names of personnel involved, their approximate hours spent to carry out the activity, details of the buildings and rooms where the activity will be conducted, how the rate was computed and what expenses will be directly associated with the external rate income proposed, and the date when the proposed rates will take effect.
